Miss Rodeo USA

Well I made it back to Alabama. Tuesday my Limestone committee welcomed me back home with a meet and greet at the Limestone Sheriffs Rodeo Arena. I was meet with love, respect, and was treated like I was a celebrity. I had a room full of people who were like proud parents. I also had to say my speech which I have to admit I haven't said since the pageant. All went well and it was a great night. Thank you to all the sponsors who helped make that night so special!

Miss Rodeo USA

Guess what the weather in Oklahoma has changed again! But I do have to give this state some credit when its warm weather its really nice!  I’m getting ready to go to my first rodeo in Huntsville, Alabama and I have to thank the Longhorn Rodeo Company for hiring me, along with everyone else who has already booked me. I hope that I get in there and do some good and add something special to your event!  I have to thank the sponsors of the Miss Rodeo USA program, you guys have gone above and beyond to make my year a great one and it has just started!

Miss Rodeo USA

Boy it's starting to get busy! I have been talking to sponsors and my calendar is starting to get full. There has also been some down time. Saturday I went to Hayden's birthday party at the skating rink. Lets just say its a good thing that I didn't have to skate in the pageant. I also got to go to a friends house and see the world of bucking bulls is like. And saw them up close and personal when I helped move one that had gotten out and was in the wrong pen. I leave Monday the 25th to go back to Alabama and for my welcome home party. Then it's my first appearance as Miss Rodeo USA.

Miss Rodeo USA

Hi guys! Lets see I have had one full week and its only Wednesday. Monday I had to go to the wonderful Dr. David Jones to have a cavity filled. As nervous as I was going into his office that morning my fears were laid to rest. I was in the best hands and it was pain free!!! I went and watched Hayden Duvall play basketball and watch out she is a star on the rise! I'm getting packets ready to send out and calling sponsors. I leave at the end of February to attend a Longhorn Rodeo in Huntsville, Alabama and I am so excited!!!

Miss Rodeo USA

Sorry about such a long space between blogs but when you live in the sticks internet is not an option!!!! Well I arrived in Oklahoma but just barely! There was bad weather the whole way. As for the Oklahoma weather, as Will Rogers once said" if you don't like Oklahoma weather, just wait it will change!" he hit the nail on the head. Since I have been here it has had hurricane winds, 80 degree summer days, and snow! my first photo shoot with Jim was canceled because of the 4 inches of snow in Tulsa. So I went yesterday and had a great time. Jim is amazing! So keep a look out for my photos on the website and my NEW tear-off sheets!

Miss Rodeo USA Kristin Scott

Over the river and through the woods to the Duvalls house we go!! And that is the truth!Lets just say I don't take directions very well. I spent the night with Amy, Tom, Hayden, and Nathan. I got up this morning to go see Dr. J. and Mrs. Deb. We all went to lunch and then we went back to the office, which scared me to death but Dr. J and all his staff are so nice, and they make you feel so comfortable. After tonight I go back to Alabama to pack up my stuff and be back to take my pictures with Jim Grillot. Then after January 28th I am an Okie transplant!

Because of a gate change at DFW, my luggage was put on a flight to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
Welcome back to the real world... OY!

Kristin Scott Miss Rodeo USA 2008

How do you put into words the emotions I felt when they called out my name? After a full week of interviews, modeling, questions, and horsemanship I was in shock and awe when they said my name. This pageant has taught me more about myself than I ever thought possible! I just want to send out a special thank you to everyone who sponsors, and volunteers to make this pageant possible without you it would not be the same. Thank you to my sponsors and rodeo committee for your support and encouragement. I want to thank my family for everything they have done to help me get this far! And to everyone I encourage you to all "branch out" and try new things, I did and now I'm living my dream as Miss Rodeo USA 2008!!!

Day 7, Part 2 - Miss Rodeo USA Pageant: Signature Sponsor, Ariat International

Tonight we said goodbye to Miss Rodeo USA 2007, Candice Carper. I first met Candice in 2003 when she first ran for Miss Rodeo USA and I was a judge. I thought she was wonderful then, but she was running against
Leslie Burgreen from Alabama, and no body was going to beat Leslie that year. When we spoke after the pageant that year, I told her she should come back and that she would make a terrific queen...She came back, she won, and she was great!
And now another young lady from Alabama will represent the International Pro Rodeo Association.
Kristin Scott, Miss Limestone Sheriffs Rodeo... you are now Miss Rodeo USA 2008, the future is what you make of it, welcome to the IPRA... It is your year to shine!
